Before setting up his own firm Tim was in the BBC Advertising Sales group within BBC Worldwide in the new role of Global Learning and Development Director. He ensured that every sales person had long-term development plans in place. At the same time he tactically delivered training where needed to add direct value to the sales business.
A senior colleague noted on a recent pitch, "A good object lesson and a good outcome - we secured a meeting with the top dog. After all the prep we used just the ideas and adapted to the conditions in the room. All in all, a great case study about how to prepare and read the meeting and act accordingly. Your involvement was invaluable."
Tim Baynes worked within Microsoft's digital advertising group from 2004 - 2009, where he founded a learning and development team operating across Europe, the Americas and Asia. His operational skill as a trainer in boardrooms and hands-on experience of using digital strategies to drive incremental business has enabled Microsoft to offer digital marketing training to its customers.
One Agency Head remarked: "What an excellent session. All who attended benefitted from it and enjoyed it. It is extremely difficult to get this level of individuals out for 4 hours - time as we all know is precious. These 4 hours were well spent, we learned, we enjoyed, and came away with ideas".
Earlier, throughout his seven years in the consulting area, he has helped CEOs, their boards and senior individuals pitch their value to customers and win business. Tim is a practising artist, exhibiting yearly, and his work is held in private collections in the UK, USA, France and Australia. He is a keen cyclist and sails single-handed dinghies competitively. Tim is married with two daughters.
